After having some doubt, I hired a Ukrainian security company to check the validity of passports submitted by some of the candidates I had been corresponding with. They all came up invalid or fraudulent. Whether or not the passport check service was valid is not completely verified.
Anyway, this went on for over a year before finally meeting my future wife Iryna. It was sometime after I had gotten to know her via internet correspondence that she revealed to me that she and her two children had immigrated to the U.S via the UforU refugee program, already living in Denver, Co for a year. This simplified the process dramatically.
Most women in Ukraine post Russian invasion are without jobs and many have since run out of money. They are in desperate financial strains and could certainly be of benefit to meeting an international future partner willing to offer them a much better quality life. The exception might be those in the larger mostly unaffected cities such as Kiev where these women may still have employment. Iryna, on the other hand, fled her bombed out city of Mariupol, the epicenter of war devastation.
This poses a dilemma. With no commercial flights to Ukraine, there is no way to do an in-person meet and greet while the conflict with Russia still exists. So you may be having to extend her money to travel outside of Ukraine, say Poland or Turkey, to facilitate a meet up. Sending money to an internet romance recipient you have never actually met without ever spending time with is a huge risk. Yet many do not have the resources to even travel out of their area.
Perhaps Ukraine date could set up a verification process to at least have some sort of minimal verification to legitimize their members. Also, I would recommend video chats with these perspectives early on. Many had told me that poor internet and cell phone reception made video calling impossible or at least compromised, This too was never verified.
Highly unlikely this will make it to Ukraine Date's Testimonial page. Nonetheless, I will attempt to copy their administration team about this issue. There is a serious problem with disingenuous players on many sites praying on innocent members like me just looking for love and a life partner. Suitors beware!
